Dan Garth
Bass Guitar
Born in Kcmo, to a single mom. In the early 60's into the 70's. Motown was my 1st love, the Supremes, Temptations, Spinners, Barry White, all these my mother played constantly all thru the house. At 11 yrs old I went to my 1st concert "Isley Brothers", and when I saw Ernie Isley on guitar, I was hooked. In my mid 20's the blues bug hit me and I formed a band, and began sharpening my craft at the "Blues Alley", Bob's Saloon", "Grand Emporium", to say a few. After 7yrs, I wanted more, I played in a Reggae band for a year. Then I met a funk bassist, who opened my world up to the Funk style, and played it up to 1996. Then I heard the call of God, and learned from the styles of Fred Hammond, John P Kee and Marvin Sapp. During this time, I learned Jazz, Country, Rock, Blue Grass & Keltic music, rounding my world out, on the bass. But I still crave the heavy drive of the music, how it moves people, and stirs their souls. I'm grateful for the gift, and freely share it with all.
